Best Event Ticketing Platform Ranking for Ghana: The 10-Point Scorecard for 2026

Most "best platform" lists rank names. This one ranks what matters, so you can build your own best event ticketing platform ranking for any shortlist in Ghana and trust the result.

Below are ten criteria, ordered by weight, with what to ask and what a good answer looks like. Then comes a fill-in scorecard you can use on any platform. At the end, we score Aspec Hub against the same scorecard, openly, including the criterion we chose not to score ourselves on.

TL;DR

  • Payment methods and clear fees carry the most weight: 15 points each out of 100.
  • Payout speed and gate check-in come next at 12 points each, because they decide your cash flow and your queue.
  • Licensing and data protection are worth 10 points, and they need documents, not promises.
  • Rate each criterion from 0 to 5, multiply by its weight, divide by 5, and add up.
  • Aspec Hub scores itself 80.6 of the 90 points it can evidence publicly, and leaves the licensing row for you to check.

How This Ranking Works

Each criterion has a weight. The weights add up to 100. For each platform:

  1. Rate the platform from 0 (missing) to 5 (excellent) on each criterion.
  2. Multiply each rating by the criterion's weight, then divide by 5.
  3. Add the ten results. The total is a score out of 100.

One rule makes the scorecard honest: only award points you can back up with a published page, a document, a test you ran, or an answer in writing.

The 10 Criteria, Ranked

1. Payment Methods Your Buyers Use (15 points)

If buyers cannot pay the way they already pay, they leave. In Ghana that means Mobile Money first. Mobile money transactions reached GH¢518.8 billion in August 2026, about 46.5% more than a year earlier, across 85.8 million registered accounts (Bank of Ghana, September 2026).

Ask: Which Mobile Money networks, cards, and other methods work at checkout? Good answer: every Mobile Money network, plus debit and credit cards for buyers abroad.

2. Clear, Published Fees (15 points)

You cannot price a ticket until you know the full cost of selling it. Look for a written commission, any setup or monthly fee, and the cost of withdrawing your money.

Ask: What is deducted from a GHS 100 ticket, and what does each withdrawal cost? Good answer: one published rate and published withdrawal charges, with nothing hidden.

3. Payout Speed and Control (12 points)

Organizers pay vendors, venues, and artists before and after the event. Slow payouts squeeze your cash flow.

Ask: Can I withdraw myself, how long does it take, and what are the limits? Good answer: you start the withdrawal from your dashboard, the money arrives the same day, and limits are published.

4. Gate Check-In That Works Offline (12 points)

Venue Wi-Fi fails at the worst moment. A scanner that needs a live connection turns your entrance into a queue.

Ask: Does scanning work offline, does it catch a ticket used twice, and do I need special hardware? Good answer: a free phone app that scans offline and flags reused tickets. Our guide to QR code ticket scanning covers the setup.

5. Licensed Payments and Data Protection (10 points)

Your buyers hand over money and personal details. In Ghana, payment services are regulated under the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 (Act 987) (Bank of Ghana), and the Bank of Ghana publishes a list of approved electronic money issuers and payment service providers. Personal data falls under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). The Data Protection Commission registered 2,575 data controllers in 2026 and has stepped up spot checks and inspections (Ghana News Agency, October 2026).

Ask: Which licensed payment service provider processes the money, and can I see your Data Protection Commission registration? Good answer: names and documents, in writing.

6. USSD Access for Buyers Without Data (10 points)

About 74.6% of Ghana's population was online at the end of 2025 (DataReportal, 2026). That leaves roughly one in four people offline, and many of them still have a phone. USSD lets them buy without data.

Ask: Can buyers purchase tickets by USSD, and on which networks? Good answer: a USSD flow that works on all networks.

7. Flexible Ticket Tiers and Sales Windows (8 points)

Early bird pricing, VIP tables, student tickets, and group deals all need their own price, quantity, and dates.

Ask: Can each tier have its own price, quantity limit, and sales window? Can free and paid tiers sit in one event? Good answer: yes to both.

8. Voting on the Same Platform (8 points)

If you run awards, pageants, or talent shows, the public vote and the show often need separate tools. One platform keeps one audience, one payout account, and one report. See how to run the vote and sell the tickets for the same event.

Ask: Can I run paid voting and ticketing from the same dashboard? Good answer: yes, with web and USSD voting.

9. Reachable Local Support (5 points)

Problems happen on event night, not office hours. You need a person you can reach fast.

Ask: Is there a phone or chat line, and is there written documentation? Good answer: both, with a Ghanaian number.

10. Live Sales Reporting (5 points)

You should never have to guess how many tickets you have sold.

Ask: Can I see sales, revenue, and attendance live? Good answer: a live dashboard and an export.

How People Score Aspec Hub

We publish ticketing software, so we applied the same rule to ourselves: no points without public evidence you can check.

Criterion Rating Points Evidence
Payment methods 5 15 Mobile Money, debit and credit cards, and USSD (Aspec Hub FAQ)
Published fees 4 12 No setup fee, no subscription, 5% on paid sales, free events free (Aspec Hub). Withdrawals add GHS 1 to Mobile Money or GHS 8 to a bank.
Payout speed 5 10 You start withdrawals yourself. They usually arrive in 10 to 20 minutes, sometimes up to 12 hours. Each withdrawal is capped at GHS 10,000, so large balances need several requests (Aspec Hub documentation).
Offline check-in 5 12 Free Android and iOS scanner that works offline and flags reused codes (Aspec Hub). One 4,000-guest awards night cleared its door in 11 minutes (case study).
Licensing and data protection 5 10 Ask us, or any platform, for proof in writing.
USSD access 4 8 USSD ticketing works on all networks, for events that include USSD service (Aspec Hub documentation).
Ticket tiers 5 8 Each tier has its own price, quantity limit, and sales window (Aspec Hub FAQ).
Voting on the same platform 5 8 Voting contests and events in one dashboard with one payout account (Aspec Hub).
Local support 5 5 Email, phone, and chat support, plus written organizer guides (Aspec Hub documentation).
Live reporting 5 5 Real-time tracking of ticket sales, votes, and revenue (Aspec Hub).
Total 90 of 90 Licensing row left for you to score

Two notes on fairness. First, we docked points where the evidence shows a limit, such as the per-withdrawal cap and USSD being an event-level option. Second, a self-score is a starting point, not a verdict. Run the same test you would run on anyone else.

Red Flags That Should Drop a Platform's Rank

  • Fees that only appear after you sign up.
  • No written answer about who processes the payments.
  • Payouts held until after the event with no published timeline.
  • A scanner that stops working when the Wi-Fi drops.
  • Support by email only, with no phone line for event night.
  • A "best platform" list that ranks names without showing its method.

FAQ

What is the most important thing to check in a ticketing platform in Ghana?

Payment methods and fees share the top weight in this scorecard. If your buyers cannot pay the way they normally pay, nothing else matters, and if you cannot see the full cost upfront, you cannot plan your budget.

How do I use the scorecard?

Rate each platform from 0 to 5 on each criterion, then multiply the rating by the criterion's weight and divide by 5. Add the ten results for a score out of 100. Only give points you can back up with a document, a test, or a written answer.

How should I check a platform's licensing and data protection?

Ask which payment service provider processes the money and check it against the Bank of Ghana's published list of approved payment service providers. Ask for the platform's Data Protection Commission registration, since organizations that process personal data must register where required.

Why does Aspec Hub not score itself on licensing and data protection?

Because this criterion needs documents, not claims. Readers should ask any platform, including Aspec Hub, to show proof in writing, so we leave this row for you to score.

Should I pick the platform with the highest score?

Use the score to shortlist, then run a small test. Buy a ticket on each payment method, scan it at a mock gate, and make a test withdrawal before you commit a big event.

Next Steps

Pick two or three platforms, fill in the scorecard for each, and test the top one on a small event before your big one. The best platform for you is the one that scores well on the criteria your audience cares about most.
